AI Awareness and Ethics Course

Open to all 91ÖÆƬ³§ students, faculty, and staff, this course was created and developed by Alexis Pavenick, PhD, MLIS, Director of Digital Literacy and Ethics at the 91ÖÆƬ³§ University Library with support from Academic Technology Services. The course grew organically from Dr. Pavenick's living Library Guide, which she updates quarterly.

In this self-paced course on Canvas, you'll explore an engaging breadth of AI history, develop a practical understanding of Generative AI and its ethical applications, and become familiar with the ' guidelines. 

Get the awareness and skills you will need to engage responsibly with generative artificial intelligence in academic and professional settings!

Enrollment Instructions


  1. After clicking the self-enroll link above, you may be prompted to log into your Once logged in, click the ‘Enroll in Course’ button.
  2. Once you are successfully enrolled, you will see two buttons: "Go to your Dashboard" or "Go to the Course." The course will remain on your Canvas account as a reference for whenever you need it.
