Dr. Banafsheh Behzad is a Professor in the Information Systems Department in the College of Business, at 91制片厂. She joined the department as an Assistant Professor in Fall 2014 and was granted tenure and promoted to Associate Professor in Fall 2020. She was promoted to full Professor a year early in Fall 2024. Banafsheh earned her B.S. in Industrial Engineering from Sharif University of Technology (2006), her M.S. from Northern Illinois University (2008), and her Ph.D. from the University of Illinois at Urbana鈥揅hampaign (2014).
Dr. Ming Chen is a Professor of Operations and Supply Chain Management in the College of Business and serves as Director of the International Business Program. He joined 91制片厂 in 2011, earned tenure in 2017, and was promoted to full professor in 2022. Dr. Chen holds a B.A. from Tsinghua University, China, and an M.S. and Ph.D. from the University of Maryland, College Park.
Dr. Jessica Robinson was granted tenure and promotion to Associate Professor in May 2020 and promotion to Professor in May 2025. She earned a BS in Business Administration from Central Michigan University (Triple Major: Marketing, Logistics Management, & Production/Operations Management), MS in Agribusiness (Minor in Supply Chain Management) from Arizona State University, and PhD in Logistics/Supply Chain Management from Georgia Southern University.
Her work focuses on quantifying in vivo dynamics of the human aorta and cardiovascular implants using patient-specific medical imaging and computational modeling, generating essential data that directly informs vascular surgeons and medical device manufacturers. To date, she has published 37 peer-reviewed journal articles, 7 book chapters and proceedings, and given 52 conference presentations.
Of his scholarly collaborations with students Dr. High wrote, 鈥淩esearch activity is about being the kind of life-long learner who can serve as a dynamic model for students who want to learn how to move toward where it is they might like to be. [That students call him 鈥極ld School鈥橾 is a response to my telling them things they often do not want to hear about the hard-earned advantages of being a whole human being rather than a mere employee.
Within the Biology major, Dr. Pace has taught a range of additional courses including Ecology and Physiology, Physiology at the Limit, and Research Design and Ethics, the latter a required course for all Master鈥檚 students in the department. In 2021, Dr. Pace developed a new upper-division course, Physiological and Biochemical Consequences of Climate Change. This course employs a flipped classroom model, allowing students to engage in active, collaborative learning during class time.
John鈥檚 impact extends beyond problem-solving. He is deeply committed to fostering a culture of learning and collaboration. 鈥淗e does not simply resolve issues; he empowers staff,鈥 taking time to explain processes and guide colleagues so they can confidently navigate challenges on their own.
Loren brings care, consistency, and follow-through that extend far beyond her job description. As Tiffany Edlin, Senior Associate Athletic Director, shared, 鈥淚t鈥檚 hard to fully capture the impact she makes on our campus鈥oren supports all 325 of our student-athletes, and she still finds a way to make every one of them feel seen.鈥
Penelope thrives on supporting collaborative, cross-campus initiatives that contribute to student success and strategic planning. 鈥淚t鈥檚 meaningful to me to help create structure, efficiency, and support for the leaders and programs I work with,鈥 she says.
Dr. Elaine Bernal has been with 91制片厂 for 19 years, spreading sustainability initiatives on and off campus. Their leadership roles and efforts are fully recognized through this award.
"Kim鈥檚 leadership has set the standard for how sustainability can be integrated across campus. Kim ensures that sustainability programming remains inclusive, accessible, and collaborative, aligning with the PCS鈥檚 mission to embed sustainability into the fabric of campus life."

Dr. Rashida Crutchfield, a professor in the School of Social Work at Cal State Long Beach, is credited with significantly changing universities鈥 understanding of how housing and food insecurity create barriers to students鈥 success.
Hired in 2003 in the Department of Biological Sciences, Dr. Young committed early on to make her classroom and research laboratory student-centered. While she was recognized for her effective and innovative teaching and mentoring, Young strove for student success beyond students she worked with directly by creating learning communities for colleagues.
Throughout her 42-year tenure at California State University, Long Beach, Dr. Loucine Huckabay has been a strong supporter and advocate for all students, especially those from historically underserved backgrounds. She is well known for mentoring students struggling academically, or those whose home or work situations interfere with their academic success.
Nikki served as the 2024-2025 ASI President and Senator for the College of Liberal Arts.
